Getting started

How long does setup take?

Filling out the intake takes a few minutes. After that we build your receptionist and send you a test number to call. How long that takes depends on your business, and we’ll keep you updated by email. You only pay once you’ve tried it and you’re ready to go live.

How does call forwarding work?

You keep your current business number. Once your receptionist is ready, you turn on call forwarding with your phone carrier, and we give you the exact code to dial. You can forward every call, or only calls you don’t answer, and you can turn forwarding off at any time to take calls yourself again.

Do I need any new equipment or software?

No. Cadence works with the phone number you already have. You manage everything from your account on this website.

Calls and callers

Are calls recorded?

Yes. Every call opens by telling callers the call is recorded, in the very first line. Recordings and summaries are there so you can review what happened.

Will it pretend to be a person?

No. If a caller asks whether they’re talking to a real person, your receptionist says it’s an AI.

What happens to after-hours calls?

Your receptionist answers them like any other call. It can answer questions, take a message, book an appointment if booking is on, or arrange a callback for the next business day. You decide which kinds of calls count as urgent and should be transferred to you right away.

Can it book appointments?

Yes, if you turn booking on. It can book, reschedule and cancel in your built-in Cadence calendar using your business hours. Google Calendar and Microsoft 365 connections are coming soon. With booking off, it takes the caller’s details and arranges a callback.

How will I know what happened on a call?

You get an email summary after each call, and you can see your calls in your dashboard. Text message summaries are coming soon.

Billing

Is there a yearly plan?

Yes. Pay for a full year upfront and the Cadence plan is $40 a month (billed $480 a year, saving $120) and Pro is $80 a month (billed $960 a year, saving $240). The discount applies only when you pay the full year upfront. Extra minutes are still billed monthly at your plan’s rate. The $100 setup fee still applies.

What is your refund & cancellation policy?

Two rules: the $100 setup fee is non-refundable, and yearly plans are non-refundable.

How much does it cost?

A one-time $100 setup fee per line, then $50 a month for 500 minutes, with extra minutes at $0.30 each. The Pro plan is $100 a month with 1,000 minutes included, and extra minutes at $0.15 each.

Can I cancel?

Yes. You can cancel at any time from your account, which opens the secure Stripe billing portal. You can also update your card and download invoices there.

How is payment handled?

Payments run through Stripe Checkout. Cadence never sees or stores your full card number.
